Caravans and Camping

There are hundreds of campsites throughout the UK which offer a variety of standards and facilities.
Campsites and caravan parks are the main choice for many holiday makers as they have on site facilities like showers, swimming pools, cafes and playgrounds. On caravan parks the main type of caravan is a static, a caravan that is permanently on site. Modern caravans and static homes contain as many mod cons as you would find in your own home, like DVD players, TVs, en-suite bathrooms and washing machines. You will need to check the details carefully to see what is included. Some campsites are very relaxed and require no deposit whereas others will require payment before hand.
If you don't fancy the idea of being on a large caravan park, with a bit of internet research you can sometimes find a single caravan site, most likely in a farmer's field. To hire a caravan you need to select your site and phone the owner. You then simply travel to the campsite and use the caravan for however long you have booked it. Caravans are usually self catering and you have to provide your own food and towels. Some campsite will provide bed linen, others may ask you to bring your own.

Additional costs may be charged if you book a pitch but turn up with a larger caravan or tent. Some campsites also charge for the use of showers. Prices vary depending on the type of season and the UK school holidays. You can expect to pay a premium during the hotter months of July and August and on bank holiday weekends.
